BILL CONOUR, ATTORNEY: Conour Devereux Hammond has nearly thirty-five years of experience in representing injured construction workers. I am an authorized OSHA safety instructor. I have obtained OSHA training so that I not only can look at the facts of the case and know what OSHA violations were committed and how the injury could have been avoided, I can also teach OSHA safety. It's very rare for an attorney to take the time and trouble to become authorized as a OSHA construction site safety instructor. It's because my practice is so much devoted to representing the injured construction worker that it was worth the time and effort to obtain this authorization. Construction injury litigation is very special and unique litigation. It has different laws than most litigation such as automobile collisions. Many attorneys who do not practice in this area regularly simply will not be aware of the claims that can be brought again general contractors, construction managers, architects, engineers that are available, and they may think the only claim is workers compensation, which is not necessarily the case. The major long-term goal we consider for our client is economic security. The injury's already happened; the tragedy has occurred. There's nothing we can do about that. But providing some type of future financial security and all the medical care that needs to be provided is what we can do for our client, or for his family.
