Bill
Conour's law firm is entirely devoted to representing the injured. For more than two decades, Bill has
been a respected personal injury lawyer and litigator in this country. For nearly 15
years, he was a columnist for Res Gestae, the official magazine of the
Indiana Bar Association. In addition, Bill has been in great demand as a teacher and
lecturer, making numerous presentations on behalf of the Association of Trial Lawyers of
America, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, the National Business Institute, Indiana
University and other private organizations.
Since graduating cum laude from
Indiana University with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree in 1974, Bill has devoted a
substantial portion of his personal injury law practice to representing injured
construction workers and their families. His focus in representing injured construction
workers is not only to compensate for the injury, but to provide future financial security
for the worker and his family. From his office in Indianapolis, Bill has represented
construction workers throughout the United States and in several foreign countries.
Bill is a member of numerous construction safety
organizations, including the American Society of Safety Engineers, the National Safety
Council, the Hoosier Society of Safety Engineers and the Hoosier Safety Council. He is
also a member of the Construction Site Litigation Group of the Association of Trial
Lawyers of America. Bill has completed all of the training requirements of
the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to become an authorized representative
of OSHA qualified to teach both the 10 hour and the 30 hour construction safety and health
programs. Bill frequently communicates with the regional and national directors of
the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and has
provided testimony to the United States Congress about work-related construction site
injuries. Bill has received his Board Certification as a Civil Trial Lawyer from the
National Board of Trial Advocacy and has received Certification as a Civil Trial Mediator
from the Indiana Supreme Court. He is a Sustaining Founder of the Trial Lawyers for Public
Justice, a Distinguished Fellow with the Indianapolis Bar Foundation and the Roscoe Pound
Foundation, a member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors and
co-chairman of the Amicus Curiae Committee and chairman of the Construction Site
Litigation Group.
On a personal note, Bill is married and has four
daughters, one son, and two grandchildren. For relaxation, he loves to travel and he has
pursued his love of horses by owning and operating a horse farm in Westfield, Indiana.
Bill and his wife own and operate EQUUS, inc.,
which focuses on the purchasing, selling, breeding, training and showing of quality sport
horses nationally and internationally.
